As part of our Pipeline Integrity Management Program, we are replacing approximately 77 miles of 95 miles of high pressure transmission pipeline between Westminster, Colo., and the Wyoming border. The additional pipe will be abandoned or switched to distribution uses. This work will ensure safe, reliable service to our current and new cuandoned or switched to distribution uses. Work in Larimer and Weld counties started in 2012 and was completed in 2014. Work in Boulder County started in 2015 and is expected to continue through 2016.
This project is one of a package of pipeline integrity management programs and projects that are funded by the Pipeline System Integrity Adjustment (PSIA) rider that appears as a separate line item on Xcel Energy's natural gas customers' bills.

Crews continue to work on the West Main Natural Gas Pipeline Replacement Project’s valve set and regulator stations along the pipeline route.
Testing of the newly installed pipeline is ongoing in order to ensure safe operating condition. This includes pressure testing and drying the pipeline. The testing requires 24-hour/day operations (including weekends) until it is completed.
Elevated noise levels associated with the testing are expected at the following locations:
- North 95th Street and Oxford Road (1,000 feet north of Oxford Rd)
- North 95th Street and Isabelle Road (one-half mile south of Isabelle Road)
We currently anticipate that testing will be completed the week of Aug. 8, 2016, but testing schedules are subject to change.
Restoration of completed work areas is underway and will continue throughout the year.
We have traffic control set up in our work zone, and drivers should expect flaggers, slowing traffic and reducing lanes from Valmont Road north to Oxford Road. Please allow for extra time to navigate through the work zones. Weather permitting, we expect our work to last until December 2016. See a map of our 2016 work zones.
